Offset & catalogue printing: planning high-volume runs

Catalogue printing, brochures and high-volume offset: how to coordinate quantity, paper, binding and delivery, and plan confidential NDA projects.

Catalogue printing and high-volume offset: what matters?

Searches for high-volume offset generally concern large print runs. For catalogue printing, page count, finished size, paper and binding matter alongside the total quantity. Specify quantities per language and delivery location. Sheet-fed or web offset is selected using this specification; even for large runs, no process is always the cheapest.

How the processes differ

HEIDELBERG describes toner-based digital printing for short runs, inkjet for short runs with higher overall volumes and Speedmaster offset presses for longer runs. The processes complement each other: the actual job requirements matter more than an arbitrary quantity threshold.

What to include in your brief

Specify finished size, page count, quantity per language, paper, finishing and delivery date. Include binding for brochures and catalogues. Agree the colour profile, bleed and any proof with the production partner before approving artwork.

Plan production and installation together

Konzept Services coordinates the production partner, kitting, delivery and optional installation. For multiple sites, clearly assign language versions, quantities and destinations. The price calculator gives an initial installation estimate; a tailored print quote considers the full specification.

NDA projects: confidential production and installation.

For confidential retail, exhibition and event projects, we work under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). We do not publish end-client orders. In a personal meeting, we can show selected projects within the agreed confidentiality terms.
